A Trip Down Keebler Road

Welcome back!

I have another story about a haunted location. Better yet, I was able to visit this place a couple of weeks ago. With that being said, the pictures were taken by yours truly.

This is the story about the Krome Family Cemetery in Collinsville, Illinois.

Let's go.

The cemetery sits on the ruins of the Krome family's mansion. It is nestled in the woods and a nice neighborhood surrounding it. After the family passed, the estate sat vacant for some time until eventually burning to the ground.

Not a whole lot is known about the family, other than they were of German descent and their names. There are six graves in total. Four of the graves belong to the Krome family members, Charles W, Anna, Charlotte, and Charles M; the other two are unmarked. My vote is these stones belong to the Krome family's pets, but no one really knows.

Sometime before the mansion caught on fire, a few curious locals decided to take a look inside. What they found wasn't out of the ordinary. They found a set of shackles attached to a concrete wall in the basement. Spooky-not really, unfortunately. The area was most likely used to keep slaves. While this was horrible, this area isn't far from Missouri, which sided with both the North and the South in the Civil War.

After this discovery, people began to report seeing ghost slaves on the property and hearing voices. Did the invention stir the ghosts up? Did the attention manifest something on the property-something that wasn't there before?

Both are possible in my mind. I am a firm believer that by putting certain energy out into the world, that something will happen. Think of vision boards. You create this board of all your dreams and dwell on it. Eventually, it'll happen. I think the same goes for spirits. Think about poltergeists. You have an angsty teen, and weird stuff can start happening.

I'm sorry to cut this short, but that was literally all I could find. I did feel weird visiting the graves, but that could be because it was surrounded by giant houses, and a guy getting his mail kept watching me.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it none the less.
